You Only Live Twice

Yikes. This the first one that simply did not work. The story was shaky (way beyond the usual), the gadgets went past fun silly and into dumb silly, the space stuff looked terrible (especially compared to 2001 that I just watched and that came out just a few months after so was made at the same time), the opening credit sequence was extremely underwhelming. Geesh, not a lot to like here besides some of the b-reel footage of Hong Kong and Tokyo at night. Even though it was late when I finished it, I had to turn on 2001 just to: (a) cleanse my pallet and (b) make sure I wasn’t crazy - I wasn’t, 2001 is stunning and gorgeous!
