My take
I’m incredibly glad that I read this. Thanks to Christopher Nolan (for the movie I’ll see on Friday morning) and the family reading challenge (since I’ll now read a modern book based on an aspect of this book). I somehow made it through all of school without ever reading Homer. This translation (thanks chatbot for walking me through the pros and cons of different translations) was very readable and enjoyable. Very disjointed and choppy, not from the poem but from the story itself, at least by my modern eyes. But not as choppy or disjointed as the bible!
